What is orchiectomy? Removal of the testicles, resulting in sterility and typically lowering testosterone-driven traits such as beard growth, muscle mass, and libido. Some people choose it as a standalone procedure; others plan it as part of a path toward vaginoplasty or vulvoplasty.
Planning for later vaginoplasty? Certain techniques use scrotal skin. Ask your surgeon about preserving this tissue during orchiectomy, as removing or contouring it can limit future options.
