From 2017 to 2020, Dr. Manrique served as Co-Director of the Surgical Transgender Clinic at the Mayo Clinic, one of the most respected medical institutions in the world. During his tenure, he helped build surgical pathways, refine protocols, and expand access to gender-affirming care.
He later joined the University of Rochester as a plastic surgery attending and has also held the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the Colombian Medical Army Reserve.

Surgery Requirements
Pre-surgical requirements include:
- Medical clearance as needed
- Smoking cessation at least 1 month pre-op
- Meeting WPATH Standards of Care, including one mental health letter that includes a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, recommendation for surgery, and documentation of informed consent.
Consultations
Consultations with Dr. Manrique are available either in person or virtually, and each visit includes a detailed review of implant options, expected outcomes, and the development of a customized surgical plan. The consultation fee is $100, which is applied toward the cost of surgery. Most patients can schedule a consultation within 2–5 weeks, with surgery dates typically available 3–6 weeks afterward.
