Dr. Michael Beckenstein, MD, FACS, is a board certified Plastic Surgeon in Alabama who is pleased to offer his expertise and skills in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to the MTF transgender community in Alabama and throughout the Southeast.
Dr. Beckenstein has performed transgender breast surgeries for over 15 years. He also offers Body Feminization Liposuction and Hair Restoration with NeoGraft Hair Transplants.
Dr. Beckenstein received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and went on to complete both general and plastic surgery residencies. He also has fellowship training in plastic surgery with a focus on breast reconstruction, ultrasonic-assisted liposuction (UAL) and facial surgery.
Dr. Beckenstein has been board-certified for almost 20 years, by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and the American Board of Surgery. He maintains active memberships in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

- Letter recommending surgery from a therapist
- In good general health
- Mammogram may be required
Financing & Insurance
Dr. Beckenstein accepts cash, credit cards, certified check, and Care Credit. He also accepts insurance. Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted.
