Dr. Kochuba earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, graduating Cum Laude in the top ten of his class and gaining election to Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his general surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.

He subsequently completed plastic surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), followed by an ASAPS-endorsed aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic under Dr. James Zins. Dr. Kochuba performs Breast Augmentation for transgender women seeking increased breast volume and more feminine chest contours. Breast augmentation uses implants to add volume to the breasts and can change their size, projection and overall proportions in relation to the chest and body. For transgender women, breast development from hormone therapy varies considerably, and surgery can provide additional volume when the amount or shape of natural breast growth does not match a patient's goals.The surgical plan is individualized according to existing chest and breast anatomy as well as the patient's desired size and appearance.

Facial & Body Feminization

Dr. Kochuba offers Facial Feminization Surgery procedures including forehead recontouring, brow lift, rhinoplasty, cheek augmentation with fillers or fat grafting, lip lift, chin recontouring and jaw recontouring. The procedures included in FFS depend on the areas of the face a patient wants to address.

• Facial Feminization Surgery: $12,050. FFS typically involves a combination of procedures selected according to the facial features a patient wants to address, so the total cost can vary considerably. Exact pricing can only be determined following a detailed consultation and development of an individualized surgical plan.

These estimates are current as of September 2025 and include the surgeon's fee, anesthesia, operating room, recovery garments, and pre- and post-operative visits. Exact pricing is determined following consultation.

Payment options include cash, credit card and check. Financing is available through CareCredit. Insurance, Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted.

Consultations & Surgery Planning

Dr. Kochuba offers both in-person and virtual consultations. The consultation fee is $100 and is applied toward the cost of surgery.

Typical scheduling is:

• Consultation: 2-5 weeks
• Surgery: 3-6 weeks after consultation

Dr. Kochuba operates at Austin-Weston's private surgical facility in Reston and has hospital affiliations with INOVA and Reston Hospital Center. The practice provides care in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Surgery Requirements

Requirements for gender-affirming surgery with Dr. Kochuba include:

• Medical clearance when required based on medical history
• Smoking cessation for at least one month before surgery
• Applicable WPATH-based surgical criteria
• One or two referral letters from a qualified mental health professional, as required
• Hormone therapy for some procedures, when required under the applicable criteria

Referral documentation includes a psychosocial assessment and diagnoses, clinical rationale supporting the requested surgery, documentation of informed consent and confirmation that the referring professional is available for coordination of care.
